CLERMONT-FERRAND 2026 GROUP ATTENDANCE CALL-OUT

The BFI Doc Society Fund is hosting a Group Attendance of directors and producers with an active short non-fiction project to attend Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and Market in February 2026.
Clermont-Ferrand ISFF is the world’s biggest short film festival and a key meeting point for international industry. The festival showcases the wide diversity of the short film form in its public programme (173,000 admissions in 2025) and brings together around 4,000 industry representatives to its Short Film Market.
Selected filmmakers will be accredited to the festival and market, which will provide key networking and learning opportunities to maximise their project’s potential, including meeting and hearing from programmers, distributors, sales agents, buyers and other industry, as well as international peers.
We are looking for projects that have cinematic scope, take creative risks, and push formal and narrative boundaries, with a sensibility to appeal to the international festival circuit.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Be a UK resident director or producer
- Have a short non-fiction film that:
- Was completed after June 2025*, or
- Will have a picture-lock version prior to December 2025
- Have made at least one short film which had a festival run
- Have not yet made a feature film (that had theatrical or festival distribution)
- Have not yet attended Clermont-Ferrand ISFF in the past
- Be available during the festival dates.
*The film can already have premiered at festivals after June 2025.
For selected filmmakers, BFI Doc Society will cover the following costs:
- 4 nights’ hotel accommodation with breakfast (organised by BFI Doc Society)
- Return travel up to £300 - by train or, where necessary, flight from the UK (booked by participants and reimbursed by BFI Doc Society)
- 1 group meal (networking dinner)
- £150 to support subsistence costs on site
- Festival accreditation
The deadline for application is Thursday 18 September, 5pm BST.
Applicants will be notified by Monday 3rd November about the outcome of their application.
