"The Decision Machines" is a short documentary about algorithmic decision-making: the process of designing systems to make decisions. These systems touch almost every aspect of human society and culture, but are largely invisible - concealed behind a veil of complexity and the mistaken assumption that they are both accurate and fair. The film combines thought-provoking interviews with fantastical, informative animation, taking viewers on a wild ride through the abstract world of algorithms, then returning them to reality with a new perspective.
