Built barely above sea level, Fairbourne is protected by an ageing sea wall that the local council says they won’t maintain beyond 2054, meaning this village will eventually be evacuated, demolished, and returned to the sea. Frontier Town tells the stories of three residents as they live under a cloud of uncertainty and potential environmental destruction. Fairbourne has inadvertently found itself on the frontline of humanity’s greatest struggle. With the people’s voices drowned out and sea levels rising, Frontier Town explores why this village is worth fighting for.
