Daily life at Mashhad Zoo is interrupted when head keeper Mohsen is invited to take Maya, his beloved Bengal tiger, to act in a fiction film in the North of the country. With real life drama, hallucinatory imaginations and stunning imagery of Iran’s great wilderness, the film stands as a fable for our relationship with the natural world.
