BFI NETWORK@LFF - Open for Applications

BFI’s flagship professional development programme is back!

BFI NETWORK@LFF supports early career UK based writers, directors, and producers working across fiction and documentary who are developing their debut feature film.

Made possible by National Lottery funding, the programme, in collaboration with BFI Doc Society, offers 15 filmmakers the chance to engage with the BFI London Film Festival programme.

Participants will receive accreditation for the duration of the BFI London Film Festival and will have the chance to attend industry talks and screenings. Recommendations will be made along with a scheduled time to engage with the festival freely.

The cohort will be invited to industry events throughout the opening weekend of the festival to meet filmmakers and other guests, and a selection of speakers will be invited to meet participants for a Q&A on their work.

The follow-up weekend in spring will feature curated film screenings alongside masterclasses with industry professionals.

To be eligible, you must have produced, written or directed multiple projects in short film (immersive, music video, theatre, TV, web series may also be considered) that have garnered industry recognition by way of awards, critical praise, or a substantial online audience.

Successful applicants must be available to attend the BFI London Film Festival from 8 to 12 October 2026, as well as a weekend in spring 2027.

Before starting your application, please read the full BFI NETWORK@LFF guidelines to make sure you're eligible to apply.

Deadline to apply is 11am on Wednesday 24 June 2026
