The BFI Doc Society team hosts regular online coffee mornings for directors and producers considering applying to our funding or talent development opportunities.
Come along to our Morning Brew sessions to meet the BFI Doc Society team, ask any questions about our funds or programmes, and to connect with other filmmakers.
These regular sessions are open to all, but across the autumn and winter of 2026 we are also hosting some focused sessions for directors and producers from specific regions and communities.
We aim to host these hour-long gatherings twice per month, with a capacity of 10 attendees per session. To ensure wide access, filmmakers cannot attend more than one coffee morning per three months.
Please note that we cannot discuss any active applications to our funds.

- Thu 8 Oct, 10am BST - a Morning Brew session exclusively for filmmakers and producers based in Wales and the North West of England.
- Thu 22 Oct, 10am BST
- Thu 19 Nov, 10am BST - a Morning Brew session exclusively for filmmakers and producers based in Northern Ireland.
- Thu 3 Dec, 10am BST
- Thu 17 Dec, 10am BST - a Morning Brew session exclusively for filmmakers and producers based in the Midlands.
